It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Allan Enden, a grandfather, a passionate farmer, and a man whose strong spirit left a permanent mark on the vast landscapes of Saskatchewan. Allan departed this world peacefully on November 10, 2023 at his home leaving behind the love of his family and the memories of a life well-lived.
Allan Steve Enden was born at his grandparent’s farm just a few short miles from where he passed to Esther and Toralf Enden on October 24, 1939. Allan was the
oldest of three children. He attended school in Outlook. He met the love of his life, Yvonne and the two of them were married in 1960. They had two sons, David and Jeffery. Born in the heart of the prairies, Allan’s roots were firmly embedded in the rich soil of Saskatchewan. His journey through life was marked by both triumphs and challenges. Though he spent years away from Saskatchewan, part of the time as a crane operator working on the Hoover Dam and also appearing as an extra in Elvis Presley’s movie It Happened at the World’s Fair, it was always his farm, a sprawling piece of land that seemed to stretch as far as the eye could see, that Allan found his true passion. While Allan was undoubtedly successful in his endeavours, those closest to him knew that his strong-willed nature sometimes made him a force to be reckoned with. His determination and resilience, while admirable, could also make him a formidable presence, and dealing with him could be a challenge. Yet, beneath the gruff exterior was a heart that beat with love for his family. Allen enjoyed traveling
to Norway and connecting with extended family. He loved the sun and Cuba was also a favorite destination.
At the age of 84, Allan was lucky enough to hold the titles of father, grandfather, and great grandfather. His family held a special place in his heart. Despite the
occasional grumble or stern word, his love for them was evident in his smile and his hugs when they visited him on the farm or during those much-loved holidays and events. The memories of those shared moments will forever be cherished by those fortunate enough to have called him “Grandpa.”
Allan Enden’s legacy lives on through the lessons he imparted, and the love he shared with family and friends. As we bid farewell to a man who left an enduring imprint on the hearts of those who knew him, let us remember him not only for his successes but also for the love that endured the challenges, and the vibrant life he lived under the vast Saskatchewan sky. May he rest in peace, forever in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him.
Allan was predeceased by his parents, Toralf and Esther Enden, by his wife, Yvonne and his son, Jeffery, and his brother, Emil. He is survived by his son, David (Brenda) and his grandchildren, Tristin (Alex), Skylar (Kristy) and Kailin (Taylor) and his great grandchildren, Zane and Addison.

Dear David and Brenda and family, We send our sympathy and regrets for not being able to attend his service. Allan was a cousin that kept in contact with so many of us in the family. He got his wish to have his last days and breaths at the farm. I am so happy that we had a great phone call on his birthday. He was so excited to go to the casino with Skylar. May he rest in peace and rise and glory love from Janet, Doug, Kelly, and Kris
