It is with sadness that we announce the passing of our husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Bruce Book on Monday, June 12, 2023, he was 90 years old. Bruce was born in the RM of Loreburn. He attended school at the Wild Lily School until Grade 8. At that time, Bruce went farming; which he did until he retired at the age of 75. Bruce met Esther in 1960 and they were married in 1961. They were blessed with 3 children; Garry in 1962, Donna in 1965 and Brian in 1971. Bruce and Esther moved off the family farm in 2016 to Outlook, where he lived the rest of his life. Bruce spent a lot of his spare time participating on many boards in the area, including the Loreburn Co-op, Loreburn Credit Union, Outlook Health District, and the Outlook Pioneer Home. He was also on the RM Council Division #3 from 1967-1974; and an RM Reeve from 1975-1998. He was happy to volunteer his time at the Loreburn Rink. During that time he managed many different hockey teams. Bruce fought many health battles throughout the years, and was a cancer survivor for 28 years. Bruce is survived by: his wife, Esther; children Garry (Melanie) Book and their children Mark (Courtney), Jesse (Hanna) and great-grandchild Quinn. Donna (Murray) Friend and their children Tyson (Emily), great-grandchildren Olivia, Peyton and Benson; Dylan Friend. Brian (Treena) Book and children Jared (Shae-Lynn) and great-grandchild Kinley; Jasey Book. Brothers Gordon (Ruth), Ross (Betty) and numerous nieces and nephews. Bruce was predeceased by his father George Robert Book and his mother Martha Christine Book/Fiske. A Celebration of Life was held Saturday, June 17, 2023 at Strongfield Hall, Strongfield, SK. Donations in memoriam may be made to STARS or the Loreburn Cemetery Fund.
