Catherine Shirley Corman (née Upshall)
July 5, 1929 – November 29, 2024
The family of Catherine Shirley Corman (née Upshall) joyfully celebrates her long and fulfilling life. Shirley passed away peacefully on November 29, 2024, at the age of 95, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories.
Shirley was born on July 5, 1929, to Neil and Altha (née Benjamin) Upshall. She grew up with a love of reading, curling, playing cards, and completing puzzle books—a passion she continued until her health no longer allowed. Shirley married the love of her life, John Walter Corman, on April 14, 1951, and they shared 67 wonderful years of marriage until John’s passing.
Shirley is survived by her loving family:
Debra (Doug) Stewart and their children, Tatum, Jeff, Ashley, and Darcie, along with five grandchildren.
Janice Jacques and her children, Kristy, Sean, and Spencer McKnight, with two grandchildren.
Michael (Sarah Jane) Corman and their children, Derick, Brad, Megan, Sarah, and Adrianna, with seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
She also leaves behind many cousins, second cousins, nieces, nephews, and her sister-in-law, along with countless friends who were touched by her kindness.
Shirley was predeceased by her husband John, her parents Neil and Altha Upshall, her brothers Neil Jr. and Gerald Upshall and their spouses, her son-in-law Marc Jacques, and numerous extended family members.
Shirley was deeply involved in her community, serving with dedication in the Legion Auxiliary, the Anglican Church, and the Eastern Star. Her unwavering love for her family and her community was evident in every aspect of her life.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. At that time Shirley and John will be laid to rest at Woodlawn Cemetery in Saskatoon.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Shirley’s memory can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
Shirley’s family would like to thank all who enriched her life with friendship, love, and laughter. Her memory will be a bright light in the hearts of all who knew her.

Dear Debra, Janice and Michael, We were both so sorry to hear of your Mom's death. Shirley and John were such faithful members of St. Mark's Church here in Outlook. Mom remembers all the work she and your Mom did for the church - bake sales, rummage sales, catering, etc. She also remembers all the laughs the two of them had together! Mom and Shirley also belonged to Outlook Chapter #54 of the Eastern Star so there were many memories to share when we read about Shirley's death. Take care . . . and please know we'll be thinking of you all in the coming days. Catherine and Lauren Featherby

Shirley & Johnny were such great friends of my mom & dad, Ben & Frances Myrol, and of our entire family. We enjoyed many gatherings together, and their door was always open , as welcoming as ever possible. Genuine good decent people who were so easy to like & enjoy . As I grew up they then welcomed my wife , then our kids into their warmth. We have many wonderful memories to cherish of our families friendship with all the Cormans . Shirley shared her kindness & spirit always. Myles Myrol
