Obituary For Marlene Brown

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Marlene Brown, who peacefully departed this life on Sunday, April 21, 2024, at the age of 76 years. Born in Dinsmore, SK, Marlene was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend to many.

Marlene was the cherished daughter of David Beattie, a native of Dinsmore, and Elsie Beattie (Fish), originally from England, UK. She dedicated her life to education, serving as a teacher for 10 years in La Ronge, SK, Hawarden, SK, and various locations across Saskatchewan. Marlene's passion for learning extended beyond the classroom, as she continued to volunteer her time in Outlook for years after retiring from the Outlook School Division in 2002.

A proud alumna of Dinsmore School and the University of Saskatchewan, Marlene was deeply committed to her community. On July 12, 1968, she married the love of her life, Ronald Brown, at the Dinsmore United Church, celebrating 55 years of marriage filled with love, laughter, and shared memories.

Marlene leaves behind her devoted husband Ronald Brown of Outlook, SK, and her loving children Scott (Heather) Brown of Outlook, SK, Tracy (Stacey) Zakreski of Saskatoon, SK, and Kris (Kelly) Brown of Saskatoon, SK. She will be fondly remembered by her seven grandchildren: Cody, Braden, Garrett (Scott), Josh, Avery (Tracy), Rowan, and Kira (Kris). Marlene is also survived by her dear sisters Josephine (Bill Kidd) Harbin of Ponoka and Judy (Murray) Inverarity of Saskatoon.

Marlene's memory will forever be cherished by all who were blessed to know her. Her legacy of love, kindness, and dedication to others will continue to inspire us all.

A private family gathering will take place at a later date. Donations in Marlene’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Saskatchewan.
