Ronald Knittig passed away with family by his side on June 13, 2024, while in the loving care of the staff at Brandtβs Creek Mews in Kelowna, BC. Ron was born on February 6, 1945 in Humboldt, SK.
While playing guitar and singing for his first band, the Positive Electrons, he met his soon to be wife, Lucille Perron. In 1972, Ron married Lucille and they quickly began raising three boys. Ron started his teaching career in Lloydminster, and it wasnβt long before he and Lucille began pursuing music almost
exclusively after relocating to an acreage in Surbiton in 1985.
Following Lucilleβs death in 2010, Ron moved to Saskatoon to be closer to family, still playing music at gigs while adoring his grandchildren. He shared his musical talents and made a positive impact at every Catholic parish he joined. In 2020 Ron moved to
Kelowna, BC where he spent his final years.
Ron is survived by his three sons and seven grandchildren: Carson (Helena) and their daughters Ava and Braedyn, James (Allison) and their children Hannah, Doan, and Eve, Blake (Danea) and their children Thea and Finn. He is also survived by three
siblings: Ellen Charko, Brenda (Don) Redhead, and Stan (Sandy) Knittig and numerous nieces and nephews.
Ron was predeceased by his wife, Lucille (Perron) Knittig, his parents George and Alma (Wourms) Knittig, and his sisters Jannette Eckl and Donna Redhead.
Ron will be interred next to his wife Lucille, at St. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Broderick, SK.
Memorial donations in Ronβs name will be gratefully received at the Alzheimer Society of Canada.

We are so very sorry for the loss of your sweet father. We have fond memories of your Dad and Mom sharing their passion for music and uplifting people with their talents. We are fortunate to have danced to their music at Danceland a number of years ago. Your Dad was always so friendly and kind hearted, a very caring and gentle man. May Heaven's Angels surround Ron and Lu in Choirs of Jubilation. Comfort, Peace and Love πβ¨οΈππππΌπΆπ΅πΆπ΅β¨οΈβ¨οΈβ¨οΈβ¨οΈβ¨οΈ Cindy & Myles Stumborg Humboldt, Sk.

We are so sorry for your loss. Ron and I were both attending St. Peter's College in 1961 and shared an interest in music which eventually resulted in us forming The Positive Electrons band. We played together in that popular rock and roll band until I moved to Alberta in 1966. Ron was a great musician with a great voice. We had many good times together. Fellow band members Jerry Rauw (Rob Cormin) and Ben Pratchler have both passed away and our drummer, Wayne McLeod, lives in a Calgary memory care unit, which leaves only me. I am so sorry I cannot attend Ron's funeral due to prior appointments. On behalf of the Positive Electrons I wish Ron Godspeed and hope that one day we'll make music together in Heaven. Rest in Peace dear friend. Moe (& Joyce) Flory, Edmonton, AB.
